What we do.

At Fireside Printing, we have the ability to produce just one or thousands of what you need to get your message across. Our array of equipment gives us the flexibility to put the right machine to the task that will help you keep within your budget. If we can’t do it on our own, we have relationships with other businesses that can pitch in if needed. We will manage the process for you to make it easy on you.

  • Letterpress
  • Offset Lithography
  • Design

This is what we’re all about. Letterpress is our craft and our art. We strive to produce things of beauty that have the look and feel of fine craftsmanship. Other letterpress printers have said you can’t match PMS colors with letterpress. We say no problem! We know that matching the correct color is of paramount importance to enable the design to work effectively. We can make it happen.

Fireside currently is operating two Brandtjen & Kluge presses that are each suited to different tasks. Both use 10" x 15" chase sizes. One is a hand fed press suited to short runs and printing of products that would confound the automatic feeder of the other press. Wooden cards, bound books and odd shapes can all be printed or imprinted on this press.

A Brandtjen & Kluge Automatic press is the mainstay of our letterpress operation. The Kluge Automatic is vintage 1949. It is capable of feeding of a variety of stocks at speeds up to 2500 per hour. This press has a six roll inking system with anti-ghosting rollers that enables ink coverage unsurpassed by other platen presses. This press is able to print even the most demanding of designs including hairline registration.

In addition to letterpress printing, we can perforate, sequential number and die cut to your specifications. Letterpress is versatile!

As a convenience to our clients we also offer offset lithography. Letterpress is versatile, but it is not the best solution for everything. Some designs do not lend themselves to letterpress or they can be too costly to produce via letterpress. By offering offset printing, we can produce the entire package for you while maintaining consistent quality and color for all the components.

Our litho press is an American Multigraphics 1250 10x15 single color press. This press was manufactured in the early 1960s. The press was given to Steve in 2001 by a printer that was retiring from the business. The Multi was neglected and in need of much TLC, but it has since been brought up to snuff with new bearings and rollers. The litho press is suited for large print areas and longer runs.

Whether you already have a design ready to go or if you need to start from scratch, we can help you put your concept on paper. We have several options available to suit your unique needs. From simple business cards to wedding invitations to very complicated forms, Fireside can develop the art that will get your point across. It doesn’t matter if you know a lot or a little about what you want or how to make it happen. We can apply the depth of 30 years experience in the printing industry to assist you.

There are several design routes we can take to make your project come to life. We have a wide variety of the traditional hand-set letterpress type available that can be used to set the text of your message. For greater flexibility, we use the modern digital tools available to give you virtually unlimited design options. Logo creation, halftones (pictures) and stylized designs are some of the design elements that can be incorporated into your project.

If you are a graphic designer or have a design firm you prefer to work with, we’ll be happy to work with you. Communication between Fireside Printing and whoever is designing the art is critical before the artwork is finalized. We will work with your designer to make sure that quality and cost effectiveness are built into the product from the get-go.

Whatever your needs are, please send Steve a note to discuss what you need and how we can create the design you need.
